Mickie, too, lives a comfortable and luxurious life in Nashville with her family and pets. In December 2020, the couple purchased a new home in Nashville.

Mickie described it as a “dream come true” in an Instagram post.

James’ income comes from a variety of sources, including her salary, merchandise, music, endorsements, and other contracts.

The exact amount, however, has yet to be revealed in public. Nonetheless, she and her family go on vacations and trips from time to time.

Career in Wrestling

Mickie had long been a wrestling lover, and after a recommendation from a friend, she enrolled in a professional wrestling school in Washington, DC.

In 1999, she debuted on the independent circuit as a valet for KYDA pro wrestling under the ring name ‘Alexis Laree.’

She handled various wrestlers during this period, including Tommy Dreamer.

Mickie polished her wrestling abilities at camps like the ‘Extreme Championship Wrestling’ (ECW) academy and the ‘Funking Conservatory.’

Maryland Championship Wrestling (MCW) and Ring of Honor (ROH) were two early competitions in which she competed. James made his TNA debut in a pay-per-view lingerie battle royal in June 2002.

Mickie worked as a waitress for ‘Olive Garden,’ an American casual dining restaurant brand, in addition to her wrestling bouts.

Mickie supplemented her income by posing naked for adult magazines like Leg Show and Naughty Neighbors in the early 2000s.

Mickie has repeatedly stated that she is no longer proud of this now that she is the mother of a son.

“It’s sort of hard to explain, I’ve done some things in my past, but that doesn’t make me who I am today,” she remarked in a 2008 interview with The Morning After radio show.

WWE debut

In 2003, she was signed by WWE and assigned to the Ohio Valley region, which was still their developmental zone at the time.

Her debut OVW appearance was on January 29, 2004, and she went on to compete in numerous tag-team matches after that.

On October 10, 2005, James made his WWE debut. In a RAW program, she used the stage name Mickie James and pretended to be an enthusiastic Trish Stratus fan.

The following match between the divas was won by Stratus.

As both of the ladies featured in further matches together, this famous storyline persisted. On April 2, 2006, at Wrestlemania 22, James defeated Trish and won her first women’s championship.

This match is still regarded as one of the best women’s matches in history.

Similarly, James went on to win the women’s championship four more times in the following years. Mickie won her first ‘Divas Championship’ in July 2009, defeating Maryse, who was the reigning champion at the time.

From October 2009 to April 2010, she was a part of the Smackdown brand.

In April 2010, Mickie returned to the independent circuit, appearing for the World Wrestling Council (WWC) and Maryland Championship Wrestling (MCW).

Mickie got a deal with TNA in September of that year, and she made promotional appearances as well as a special edition of ‘Impact!’

Ascending to fame

In April of 2011, James won the first ‘Covey Pro Women’s Championship, but in November of that year, she was defeated by Jessie Belle Smother.

In April 2011, she defeated Madison Rayne to win the ‘TNA Knockouts Championship.’

With her victory, she became the first and only diva to hold all three WWE Women’s, WWE Divas, and TNA Knockout Championship titles.

She won the TNA knockout championship twice more, in September 2011 and May 2013. In June 2015, she won the MCW women’s championship, only to lose it against Kimber Lee in November of the same year.

In July 2015, she was briefly connected with Global Force Wrestling (GFW).

The diva made her WWE comeback in January 2017 on an episode of ‘SmackDown Live.’ In the 2017 ‘Superstar Shake-Up,’ she was drafted to RAW.

During the 2019 Superstar Shakeup, the WWE diva was recruited back to the SmackDown brand.

She injured her knee during a live engagement in July 2019 and was out of commission for several months following surgery. She worked as a pundit for the main event during her rehabilitation.

Moreover, James returned to the arena on the August 2020 episode of Raw and lost singles match to Natalya. James fought RAW women’s champion Asuka in September, which she eventually lost.

Mickie featured in a special ‘Legends Night’ episode of RAW on Jan 2021 alongside other WWE superstars.

Musical Journey

As noted before, Mickie had acquired an interest in music when she was in school, but it wasn’t until later that she started music professionally.

She began recording songs in 2009, while on the road with WWE.

The stunning diva launched her first song, ‘Are you with me’, and the album ‘Stranger’s & Angles’ in 2010. Notable music producer Kent Wells produced this CD.

She got signed to “Eone Music Nashville’ later on and released her first single with a music video, ‘Somebody’s Gonna Pay.’ This video shows her real-life spouse Nick Aldis and her friend Trish Stratus.

Her album of the same name was released as a result, and it debuted at number 15 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.

‘Hardcore country,’ Mickie’s TNA entrance music, is included as a bonus tune on her debut album.

Mickie has released two additional music videos since then, ‘Left Right Left‘ in 2018 and ‘I don’t give an A’ in 2019.

Mickie’s official VEVO channel has a following of 15,000. There have been over a million views.

Mickie is always working on new projects, and she recently announced that she is working on a new, untitled album that will be published shortly.

The WWE diva describes her music as “country southern rock,” and she prefers to write songs that are inspired by her events rather than random melodies.

She has won three NAMA awards, including Song of the Year 2017 for her 2016 hit “Shooting Blanks.”

The award for Best single recording 2018 went to Left Right Left. In October 2017, Mickie was also inducted into the ‘Native American Music Awards Hall of Fame.’

Marriage and Relationships

Mickie James has dated a number of other wrestlers throughout her career. She was in at least seven relationships before marrying Nick Aldis, according to online sources.

During the early 2000s, Mickie had relationships with Adam Birch, better known by his stage name ‘Joey Mercury,’ and C.M Punk.

Mickie dated and was engaged to Kenny Dykstra in 2007. Kenny is a professional wrestler as well. Sadly, this relationship did not work out, and they soon divorced.

Mickie also had a brief relationship with WWE superstar John Cena in the 2000s.

As rumors circulated that James was transferred to a different show after the couple broke up, this informal relationship sparked controversy.

In addition, her ex-fiancee Ken has claimed that she was a factor in Cena’s divorce from his then-wife, Liz Cena.

Mickie met Nick Aldis, better known in TNA as ‘Magnus,’ and they began dating in 2011. They had a brief split in 2013 for unknown reasons before reuniting.

On September 25, 2014, the couple welcomed their first child, a son named Donovan Patrick Aldis. They tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony on December 31, 2015.

Mickie and Nick have been together for nearly a decade, and we’re thrilled to see how much they still adore each other. They are frequently seen on social media praising each other.

Children and Family Life

She devoted the majority of her time to wrestling in the early years of her career, traveling more than 250 days per year.

Mickie has stated that she is learning to balance wrestling, family, and other interests, such as music, as she grows older.

Mickie has a deep affection for horses that dates back to her childhood. Casanova and Bunny are the names of her two horses.

James, who is multi-talented, is also a dog lover who has two dogs named Pixie and Butch, as well as a cat.

Mickie is also involved with Childhelp, a non-profit organization that assists children who have been victims of abuse or neglect.

Mickie works closely with the therapy center where horses are used for mutual healing of children and horses as a Childhelp ambassador. Mickie hopes to one day own her own horse farm.

GAW TV

Mickie teamed up with other female wrestlers, Lisa Marie Varon and Valerie Wyndham (SoCal Val), to create the Grown-Ass Women (GAW) TV YouTube show in March 2020.

This is a fun show where they discuss life, career, relationships, fashion, and other interesting topics in an unfiltered manner.

This show has been referred to as “important nonsense” on numerous occasions. GAW TV merchandise, including apparel, homewares, and accessories, is available on the official website.
