Childhood and Education

Dave Chisnall was born on September 12, 1980, in St. Helens, England.

He used to play football in his school with the local football teams before becoming serious about darts, but he fractured his foot at the age of seventeen. As a result, he decided to retire from football.

Later that year, he developed an interest in darts after seeing one in a friend’s bedroom and playing with it while visiting his friend.

On his first visit to the board, he threw 180, much to his amazement. He then felt he could perform well at darts and began playing.

Dave has also competed in other tournaments, winning the Players Championship (BAR) five times (2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017).

He had to withdraw from the game in 2021, soon before his match with Luke Humphries, after testing positive for COVID-19.

As a result, he failed to qualify for the William Hill Global Darts Championship and did not win any Grand Slams of darts, negatively impacting his world ranking.

Injury

Dave had to overcome or hide his injuries on multiple occasions in order to bring the trophy home.

He was in pain while on vacation with his wife at Cape Verda after injuring his foot on his stag do in Liverpool city center.

After all of Dave’s troubles, he kept it hidden so that his wife could relax and enjoy her trip.

Furthermore, this occurred barely a week before the World Championship, yet he was able to qualify for the finals after that.

Trolls

Dave, who was thought to be a kind man, was not anticipated to become involved in any sort of squabble.

Dave was once told by an anonymous online user that he “should be dead.” Instead of being furious, anxious, or scared, Dave, being Dave, took it in stride and used it as motivation for his upcoming games, as a legend does.

Following that incident, he was again the target of a Facebook taunt from an anonymous troll who said Dave should “fire in hell.”

Accolades and Achievements

Dave has won several trophies and titles during his career as a member of the Professional Darts Corporation and the British Darts Organization.

After defeating Justin Pipe 6–4 at a Players Championship event in Crawley, he won his first-ever PCD title.

Dave became one of the most eligible players in darts history when he defeated Michael Van Gerwen 5-0 in the World Championship in 2021.

The most notable victory of Chisnall’s career came in the German Darts Championship Final, where he defeated Peter Wright 6-2.

Dave has also competed in events including as the World Championship, World Grand Prix, Grand Slam, Premier League, European Championship, World Matchplay, World Masters, and the United Kingdom Open.

He’s also won the BDO Champions Cup, BDO Gold Cup, Isle of Man Open, Lancashire Open, Oldham Open, and other tournaments.

Personal Life

Michaela Davis, Dave Chisnall’s wife, is a happy couple. Dave and Michaela married on January 14, 2017, in a private ceremony to which only their friends and family were invited.

Dave and Davis met in a darts tournament in 2010 and have been together ever since.

Davis is also a darts player who competes in the Morecambe darts league for Smokey O’Connor’s bar. To reward them for being a part of their wedding, they gave darts flights to their guests.

Their daughter Lexie Rose was born in 2011, six years before they married, so it took them a long time to exchange rings. Parker Owen, their son, was born in October of 2021.

An unpleasant moment had knocked on his door before the dazzling occurrence.

Dave’s mother died in February 2021. He is, however, overcoming his grief and attempting to make her proud every day.
