The See actress has always wanted to be an actor. In an interview with Elle Canada,
she stated that she realized she wanted to be an actor when she was about thirteen years old.
“I was about 13 at the time.” I grew up in Courtenay, British Columbia, with my mother and two sisters.
There was probably only one other Black family in town. “My family was quite close,” she explained.
“We would choreograph dances together, put on small plays for our mothers,
record music videos, and pretend to be different characters from various shows.”
“It was a very lively and creative environment,” the actress went on.
“And I was so motivated by actors I admired on television that I just had to do it.”
Everything I did after that was to save money for acting classes.
I started with our local Tim Hortons, which I enjoyed, and then moved on to Ardene.”
