Two men assaulted Tahnee Welch outside her Manhattan East Side apartment on January 20, 1988.

Around 12:40 a.m. EST, Welch was returning from late-night grocery shopping.

After pushing her to the ground, the attackers punched her in the face and stole her purse.

Only one of the men was apprehended by police, a 17-year-old named Elvin May from Brooklyn.

On the basis of the witnesses, the court later charged him with two counts of robbery.

The Cocoon actress was taken to New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center following the attack, where she was treated for lacerations above her right eye that required several stitches.

She had a bruised left eye, facial and hand scrapes, and back pains.

Married Life

Tahnee Welch met Joe Pizzeria, the Palanca family’s restaurant while working in the kitchen.

From 1991 to 1996, she was married to English actor Jared Harris.

Harris, Welch’s ex-husband, is known for his roles as Lance Pryce in AMC’s Mad Men and Valery Legasov in HBO’s Chernobyl.
