Rosscup has participated in a variety of baseball leagues. Zac began his amateur career by participating in lesser leagues with his hometown’s teams.
Zac always wanted to play football when he was younger. However, his grandfather forbade him.
Rosscup’s vision and physical strength to throw fastballs shifted his grandfather’s perspective, and he informed Zac he had the wrong desire.
Zac had no intention of playing baseball in high school after his grandfather died.

Career in College
Zac was a pitcher for the Forest Grove High School baseball team throughout his high school years. His performance was appreciated by a number of amateur coaches.
He also played in the Chemeketa Community College local club during his boyhood.
“Being a left-handed pitcher with his velocity and ability to command pitches, he has the raw talent that the Rays recognized they could turn him into a highly polished pitcher,” Zac’s college coach said.
He was taken from Chemeketa Community College in the 2009 MLB draft. Later, he was selected in the 28th round of the draft by the Tampa Bay Rays.
Career in Major League Baseball
Zac made his MLB debut in 2009. However, he didn’t get many opportunities to play games.
In West Virginia, he made his debut against the Greenville Astros. Zac was assigned to the advanced rookie team.
