Chicago Bulls

B.J. was picked by the Chicago Bulls with the 18th choice in the NBA draft in June 1989 after a stellar basketball career at the University of Iowa.

In his first season with the Chicago Bulls, he averaged 5.6 points per game in 81 games. With a total of 28 free throws, the young athlete set a new record for the longest straight free throw streak.

After winning 61 games against the Los Angeles Lakers in 1991, Armstrong also contributed to the team’s NBA championship.

In 1994, however, he was forced to miss one of his games due to the Los Angeles Lakers’ decision to play Magic Jordan for the entire game. This was the only game in Armstrong’s career that he did not play.

In the following seasons, the youthful player improved his scoring abilities, but he did not become a starter for the squad. B.J. was also instructed by coach Phil Jackson to work on his three-point shooting.

He improved his three-point shooting after that, winning the NBA’s Three-Point Field Goal Percentage title with a 453 (63-for-139) average.

B.J. and the Bulls squad had a 47-35 record in 1995, and they advanced to the second round.

Following his time with the Chicago Bulls, he was selected by the Toronto Raptors in the 1995 NBA Expansion Draft.

Armstrong, on the other hand, turned down the deal and was traded to the Golden State Warriors in return for Carlos Rogers.

From 1996-to 1997, the youthful basketball player was a member of the Warriors.

B.J. signed with the Charlotte Hornets for the 1997-98 season after his contract with the Warriors expired. He played 62 games in the 1997-98 season.
