After the passing of his grandparents, he was already depressed as he played for the Kansas Jayhawks. His younger sister Jayla called him in January 2011 to inform him that his mother had passed away.

Lisa passed away from a heart attack while she was just about 43 years old.

The entire University of Kansas team and staff, including head coach Bill Self, attended his mother’s funeral in the Antioch Baptist Church in Deanwood, Washington.

Career in College
