Life in Politics

Anthony has been a Republican Party supporter since he was a freshman in college.

He was also the vice-chairman of the Nevada Young Republicans. Anthony officially supported Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama in 2008, after a few years of silence.

In 2012, he similarly lent his full support to Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney. He also made an appearance in one of his presidential campaign ads in his home state of Nevada.

Basketball Career in the NBA

Anthony was selected 12th overall in the first round of the 1991 NBA draft by the New York Knicks.

Greg was a mediocre shooter; to be honest, his accuracy was just average, but he shone on defense, where he was a fantastic guard.

He began his career as a point guard for the Knicks the next year, in 1982.

From 1992 to 1995, Anthony spent four seasons with the New York Knicks as a defensive specialist.

He subsequently spent two seasons with the Vancouver Grizzlies before joining the SuperSonics. From 1995 to 1997, he was a member of the Memphis Grizzlies.

After that, he signed with the Seattle SuperSonics, although just for one season, the 1997/98 season.

From 1998 to 2001, he was a member of the Portland Trail Blazers, where he played defense for four seasons.

The Milwaukee Bucks, like the SuperSonics, were graced with Anthony’s presence for only one season, the 2001/02 season.

After leaving the Bucks, Greg spent two seasons with the NBA’s reigning champions, the Chicago Bulls, before retiring from professional basketball.

He finished his career with the Bulls averaging 7.3 points per game, 1.9 rebounds, and 4.0 assists.

Career Away from the Court (TV Career)

Greg joined ESPN after retiring from professional basketball, where he worked as a commentator for both ABC and ESPN’s NBA broadcasts.

On December 13th, 2008, Anthony was hired by CBS Sports as a college basketball analyst. He took the place of Clark Kellogg, who was promoted to lead commentator.

Following that, Greg was hired as a pundit for the YES Network’s coverage of the Nets for the 2012/13 season. He wasn’t the only commentator on the show; Jim Spanarkel, Ian Eagle, and Mike Fratello were among the others.

Additionally, in 2014, Greg and Clark switched roles as studio analysts and lead commentators.

Anthony’s appearance as a commentator in the 2016 official NBA video game was perhaps one of the happiest moments of his life.

Children and Marriage

Greg Anthony married Chere R. Lucas in the early 2010s, though the pair haven’t confirmed the precise date.

He and Chere have two children, a son and a daughter, whose names have not been revealed. The oldest child was born on March 25, 2014, while the second child’s date of birth remains unknown.

Chere Anthony, of the Dermatology and Aesthetic Center in Boca Raton, is a Board Certified Dermatologist.

Chere, unlike Greg, is a well-educated woman who went to Dartmouth College, Duke University School of Medicine, Virginia Mason Medical Center, and Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio, in that sequence.

Greg was married to Crystal McCary, a professional lawyer, and novelist who was named one of Crain’s New York Business’s 40 under 40 before meeting Chere.

They have two children together: Cole Anthony, a son, and Ella Anthony, a girl.

Cole, his son, and Ella, his daughter, are both basketball players.

Charges of soliciting prostitution

Greg Anthony was caught in a prostitution sting operation at the Washington Hotel on the night of January 16, 2015.

Greg and his wife, Chere, had had their first child on March 25, 2014, a year previously.

So, when her father was arrested for dealing with a prostitute, the firstborn baby daughter was only a year old.

Greg, what a fantastic time to cheat on your wife.

A month later, the court decided that his charges would be dismissed if he remained clean and out of trouble for four months and completed 32 hours of community service.

Anthony had responded to an escort ad on Blackpage.com, a classified website, according to the investigation.

As a result, Anthony unwittingly recruited a female undercover cop posing as a prostitute; the two met at the hotel, where she informed Greg that the intercourse would cost $80.
