Early Life and Childhood

Michael Moore was born on April 23, 1954, in Davison, Michigan, United States of America. Michael’s age is 67.

He was born outside of Flint, Michigan, and grew up in Davison. Helen Veronica (née Wall), his mother, worked as a secretary. Her birth year was 1921, and she died in 2002.

Francis Richard “Frank” Moore, his father, was an automotive assembly-line worker who died in 2014.

Michael grew up in Flint, which was home to many General Motors factories where his parents and grandfather worked. Michael’s uncle was one of the founders of the United Automobile Workers labor union known as LaVerne.

LaVerne participated in the Flint sit-in strike. Michael was raised as a devout Catholic. He is of Irish descent, with minor amounts of Scottish and English ancestry. Michael’s ancestors included Quakers.

Michael Moore attended the parochial St. John’s Elementary School for his primary education. He later enrolled at St. Paul’s Seminary in Saginaw, Michigan, for a year before attending Davison High School.

As a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Michael earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

At the age of 18, he was elected to the Davison school board. Michael became the youngest person elected to office in the United States since the minimum age for holding public office was recently reduced to 18.

Michael’s written and cinematic works as a writer criticize capitalism in general, the American health care system, the Iraq War, assault weapon ownership, large corporations, globalization, and Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Donald Trump.

Fahrenheit 11/9 is a documentary about the 2016 United States presidential election and Donald Trump’s subsequent presidency.

In 2016, he produced the documentary Michael in TrumpLand. The documentary is about the 2016 presidential election campaign in the United States.

The film is based on Michael’s desire to perform a one-man show at the Midland Theatre in Newark, Ohio on October 7, 2016. However, the Midland Theatre’s management chose not to honor a rental contract.
