Who is Bobby Lashley?

Bobby Lashley is an American professional wrestler and MMA fighter. Bobby Lashley is presently signed to ‘World Wrestling Entertainment,’ where he works under the ‘Raw’ brand.

Lashley has won the ‘Extreme Championship Wrestling two times and the ‘WWE United States Championship once.’

He has also excelled in ‘Impact Wrestling,’ winning the ‘Impact World Championship four times in his career.

Lashley, who is known for being gruff and strong in the ring, is a soft-spoken man in real life.

In a short amount of time, the public accepted him and became his admirer.

Millions of people now adore and follow him.

But it hasn’t always been simple for Lashley; love and hate are part of his job.

He must pretend to be a bad guy in order to fulfill the demands of his character.

On such occasions, he has received harsh criticism and has lost many followers.

But anyone who realizes WWE is only for entertainment purposes would know who the real Bobby is.

So, in this read, we’ll try to tell you who the real Bobby Lashley is.

Childhood and Education

Bobby was born and raised in Junction City, Kansas, USA, on July 16, 1976.

His father was in the army and had to travel a lot, so he was reared by his mother, Clara Lashley, and his three sisters.

However, he had to deal with his parents’ divorce when he was young, and coming to terms with the knowledge that his parents would not be together was difficult for him.

Lashley was a mischievous child, and his sisters would frequently take him to the woods and tie him to a tree for hours.

Then, in seventh grade, he was exposed to wrestling, which was the off-season alternative to football.

However, wrestling later became his passion, and he was able to escape his family’s drama.

Lashley saw his mother struggle to raise four children, so he began working at a young age.

Similarly, he attended Fort Riley Middle School for his main education.

Following that, he earned a degree in human-service agency management and recreation administration from Missouri Valley College.

Few of you may be aware that Lashley first followed in his father’s footsteps and entered the army.

He did, however, continue to wrestle and fight in the army’s world-class athletic programs.

He had also received numerous medals while serving in the army.

He was even qualified to wrestle for Team USA in the 2004 Olympics.

He couldn’t play that season, though, since some thugs shot him in the knee with a gun.

Professional Career

Booby Lashley’s WWE career began in 2005, when he signed a contract with the company.

He made his debut in SmackDown using his real name. His first match was against Simon Dean, which he won.

In 2006, Lashley became the first SmackDown wrestler to qualify for the survivor series.

After establishing an impression on SmackDown, Lashley startled everyone by joining ECW.

He was there to sign the contract for the ECW championship, which he won by defeating the Big Show.

He became the third African-American to win the WWE World Championship title after his triumph.

However, Lashley only stayed in ECW for a year before being drafted to RAW in 2007; as a result, he had to relinquish his ECW title.

Lashley was unable to make an impression on Raw.

After a string of defeats, he chose to join the Independent Circuit in 2008.

Lashley worked in Independent Circuit for six years. Lashley defeated numerous wrestlers on Circuit, including Toman Honda, Bob Sapp, The Predator, and Kendo Kashin.

Then he proceeded to Total Nonstop Action, where he appeared in a number of bouts. However, he did his best and offered his all, but nothing brought him the popularity he craved.

Following that, he went to TNA, where the animosity between Kurt Angle and Lashley was highlighted and garnered a great deal of public attention.

Lashley was portrayed as a villain in TNA, and he faced several public criticism.

WWE comeback

Lashley returned to WWE after ten years away, making his debut appearance on Wrestlemania 34.

When Lashley’s theme music began to play, the audience went berserk and began cheering for him.

During his first month back, Lashley appeared in a few tag team battles.

Lashley won the Summer Slam and had direct access to the Universal Championship, but Roman Reigns was also a contender, therefore he lost to Roman.

In July of 2019, both Lashley and Braun Strowman were involved in a fight that sent them to the hospital.

Lashley took a vacation from Raw after losing the battle.

He returned to Raw in September, interrupting Rusev’s bout and kissing Lana, Rusev’s wife.

That storyline was well received, and WWE created a love triangle between Rusev, Lana, and Lashley.

Lana and Lashley wedded later in the WWE main event.

This marriage, however, could not continue, as Lashley asked Lana for a divorce after she interrupted him during a title bout, causing Lashley to lose the World title.

World Champion Victory

While Mix was the Universal Champion, Lashley defeated him in a lumberjack match, giving him the opportunity to win the title for the first time in his career.

And he defended his championship against Drew Mclntyre and Kofi Kingston in separate events.

However, Bobby lost his title on September 13 when Big E cashed his money in the bank as Randy Orton and Lashley were wrestling.

But Lashley was undeterred, and his goal was to reclaim the Universal championship.

Lashley became the number one contender for the championship after defeating numerous competitors in a fatal four-way, and he had to face Brock Lesner.

Regardless, Bobby Lashley won the match after Roman Reigns interfered, allowing Lashley to defeat Brock in the 2022 Royal Rumble and reclaim the WWE Championship.
