Candace Parker was ordered to pay ex-husband Shelden Williams $400,000 in alimony

Sheryl Swoopes, the first woman to sign a WNBA contract, paved the way for female basketball players.

Candace Parker married her now ex-husband, Shelden Williams, the same year she was drafted first overall by the Sparks.

Williams was a standout at Duke University. In 2005-06, he was named ACC Defensive Player of the Year twice and was a unanimous First-Team All-American.

During the 2005-06 season, Williams averaged 18.8 points, 3.8 blocks, and 10.7 rebounds.

In 2003-04, he also helped lead the Blue Devils to the Final Four.

However, despite being selected with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks, Williams never averaged more than 5.5 points in his career.

In the divorce documents, he “reportedly cited irreconcilable differences.”

Furthermore, according to Bleacher Report, Parker was ordered to pay $400,000 in alimony to her ex-husband as part of their divorce settlement in 2018.

The payment was made so she wouldn’t have to pay spousal support in the future.

According to TMZ, the two also split the profit from their last property, which sold for $3.75 million.

Parker’s financial assets and post-divorce life

Candace Parker’s life has changed dramatically since her divorce in 2016.

She announced her marriage to Russian pro basketball player Anya Petrakova, as well as their pregnancy, on Instagram at the end of 2021.

While viewers were astonished, Parker’s close friends and family knew she married Petrakova in late 2019.

Parker’s wife gave birth to their son Air on February 11, 2022.

Let’s isolate Parker’s financial worth from her love partners.

The 35-year-old has not only made money in the WNBA, but she has also worked as an analyst and commentator for NBA and NCAA Tournament coverage at Turner Sports.

This is in addition to her professional appearances abroad.

It is unknown how much more money she has than Shelden Williams, but Celebrity Net Worth estimates their combined net worth to be $5 million.

Candace Parker, on the other hand, must be substantially more valuable than him based on that big alimony payment.

Parker has established herself as one of the top WNBA players in history.

This has also contributed to her financial success.
