On September 8, 2018, the internet star from Michigan revealed his relationship with Russo via an Instagram post.
He posted a photo of himself and Russo dressed up in beautiful outfits.
According to the caption, they were at a friend’s wedding.
According to Distractify, the couple originally met in 2018 through the online dating app Bumble.
They allegedly met face-to-face after communicating on the app for a while and began dating each other.
After making his Instagram connection with Russo official, the two began to publish multiple images together on their respective social media handles.
Russo posted a photo with the YouTuber on New Year’s Eve 2019.
He stated in the post that Oakley was the nicest thing that has ever happened to him in 2018.
“The best part of 2018,” he wrote.
The frequent sharing of photos beside each other, as well as the captions of the posts, demonstrated that the two had formed a deep friendship.
However, their relationship appears to have ended, as they apparently split up.
Neither Oakley nor Russo has lately shared anything linked to each other.
Although nothing has been officially proven as of yet, the absence of Oakley in Russo’s and Russo in Oakley’s social media handles has suggested a breakup.
Tyler Oakley’s Speculative Relationships
Prior to her connection with Russo, Oakley was linked to Adam Rippon, a former American figure skater.
The dating rumors originated after Oakley featured Rippon in a February 6, 2018, YouTube ad.
The speculation was reinforced when the former skater posted a photo with the YouTuber with a flirtatious remark.
“Daddy loves a winner,” says Rippon’s caption.
All speculations were put to rest when Rippon declared his relationship with Jussi-Pekka Kajaala – they were engaged in February 2021.
Similarly, Oakley began dating Russo a few months later.
Aside from Oakley’s supposed connection with Rippon, there were rumors in 2014 that he was dating Troye Sivan, an Australian singer-songwriter. However, there was no confirmation.

Oakley’s tale of coming out as gay dates back to his high school days.
He first came out in front of his friends, mother, and stepfather.
They were all really supportive and respected his preference.
His biological father was the only one he had to open up to.
But it wasn’t that simple. In March 2018, Oakley told People, “He [his father] came from a more conservative, religious background, that leaned a little bit less tolerant of LGBT people.”
His father brought him over for dinner one night and questioned the YouTuber whether he was gay.
Oakley did not refute and simply stated, “Yes.” His father volunteered to pay for his conversion therapy after learning the truth.
“I look back and I know that homophobia can truly mask itself as care,” Oakley remarked.
And [my father] assumed it came from a place of love.”
Oakley resisted the aforementioned conversion therapy.
He instead comforted his father and stepmother.
With the passage of time, his father came to understand and embrace his son for who he is.
His relationship with Oakley has significantly improved.
“I’m extremely glad I was patient with him,” he told People.
I’m delighted he took the time and made the effort because I don’t think it’s that easy for a lot of parents straight away.”
