When Calls the Heart fans will be happy to know that the show will return for season 10 on Hallmark Channel. Entertainment Online exclusively disclosed on Friday, June 17, 2022, that the Hallmark show has been renewed for another season.

In addition, it was revealed that Lindsay Sturman would take over as showrunner.

Lisa Hamilton Daly, Executive Vice President of Programming at Crown Media Family Networks, told the publication, “When Calls the Heart continues to push the bounds of what we can achieve with this show.”

“There are many more stories to be told about the lives of the beloved characters in this series,” she continued, “and we can’t wait for everyone at home to tune in to see what unfolds.”

Similarly, Laurie Ferneau, Crown Media Family Networks’ Senior Vice President of Development, stated her pleasure to welcome Lindsay Sturman as the new showrunner.

“[Lindsay] brings her enormous talent to the show,” she continued.

Season nine of When Calls the Heart was a huge success for Hallmark Channel, averaging 2.9 million viewers per week.

In addition, 3.1 million people watched the season finale.

Season nine concluded in May 2022, with the finale depicting an engagement proposal between Lucas and Elizabeth.

1. The cast’s reaction to the show’s renewal for a tenth season

When it was announced that When Calls the Heart would return for a tenth season, some cast members were overjoyed.

In addition, Krakow told Entertainment Weekly, “I am happy that When Calls the Heart is returning for the tenth season.”

2. ‘When Calls the Heart premiered in 2014

When Calls the Heart’s first season aired on Hallmark Channel more than eight years ago.

The first season premiered on January 11, 2014, and the season finale aired on March 29, 2014.

Every year since then, there has been a new season, which has always premiered in the first half of the year.

In between the nine seasons, Hallmark has released various Christmas specials, but this hasn’t happened since season seven.

The most recent season has 12 episodes and premiered on March 6, 2022, and ended on May 22, 2022.

In addition, the show’s nine seasons include a total of 95 episodes.

However, as we all know, the Hallmark show’s ninth season has already aired, and it has already been renewed for a tenth season.

5. ‘When Calls the Heart’ spawned a new spin-off series

Nobody could have predicted that When Calls the Heart would be a hit with audiences.

However, contrary to popular belief, it was adored by millions of people worldwide.

As a result, on July 26, 2018, a new spin-off series based on When Calls the Heart was revealed.

Its debut season, titled When Hope Calls, premiered on Hallmark Movies Now on August 30, 2019.

The sitcom featured the lives of two sisters, Lillian Walsh and Grace Bennett, who were separated when they were young but later reunited.

Morgan Kohan and Jocelyn Hudon portrayed the sisters well, and their performances stole the stage.

When Hope Calls, like When Calls the Heart, has been well received by audiences and has been renewed for a second season, which will air on December 18, 2021.

There appears to be no word on its third season as of this writing.
