Temuera Morrison is a New Zealand-born actor. Temuera Morrison is best known for his roles as bounty hunter Jango Fett in the Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith films.

He has a long list of acting credits, including the 1988 action comedy Never Say Die. Temuera made his debut in the soap opera Shortland Street as Dr. Hone Ropata.

Early life and Childhood

Temuera Morrison was born in Rotorua, New Zealand, on December 26, 1960, as Temuera Derek Morrison to Hana and Laurie Morrison.

Temuera is the younger of two brothers and sisters.

His sister, Taini Morrison, was a performer in the music industry. Taini passed away in 2009 at the age of 51. Sir Howard Morrison, his uncle, was also a talented musician.

From his maternal uncle, Sir Howard Morrison, and aunt Atareta Maxwell, he has a cousin named Michael Ashton (Make-up Artist and Hairstylist).

Temuera is a New Zealander with Mori, Scottish, and Irish ancestry.

Morrison made his acting debut in the 1972 adventure film Rangi’s Catch as Rangi.

He has a long list of acting credits, including the 1988 action comedy Never Say Die. Temuera made his debut in the soap opera Shortland Street as Dr. Hone Ropata.

In the drama film Once Were Warriors and its sequel What Becomes of the Broken Hearted?, Morrison received great acclaim for his depiction as Beth Heke’s abusive drunken husband, Jake “The Muss” Heke.

In the films Speed 2: Cruise Control and The Beautiful Country, he co-starred with Sandra Bullock, Jason Patrick, and Tim Roth, among others.

Morrison most recently played Tom Curry, the father of Jason Momoa’s character Arthur Curry, in the DC Comics blockbuster Aquaman.

Morrison provided the voice of Chief Tui in Disney’s Moana in 2016. Dwayne Johnson, a former wrestler, and actor, plays Maui in the film.
