Michael Bisping suffered an eye injury

Michael Bisping lost his right eye during a fight against former UFC champion Vitor Belfort.

According to reports, he was kicked in the head by Belfort, resulting in retinal detachment in his right eye.

On January 19, 2013, Bisping faced off against Belfort in a UFC tournament titled Belfort vs. Bisping, which aired on FX.

It was his chance to win a title shot, but he was devastated when he was knocked out in the second round by a head kick.

Michael Bisping didn’t see a doctor right away, however, because he was afraid it would prevent him from competing in other matches.

So, despite having an eye injury, he fought Alan Belcher and won a unanimous technical decision.

Later, he was unable to compete due to the worsening condition of his retina detachment and withdrew from the competition against Mark Muoz.

Bisping only opened up about the injury in 2019 and stated that his vision was basically non-existent.

Furthermore, he barely passed a vision test that required 20-200 vision, and that range would still qualify him as clinically blind.

Following an eye injury

Bisping competed with zeal after the accident, winning seven titles along the way.

He claimed that in order to defeat his opponent, he needed to alter his fighting style.

Because of his vision impairment, his career was forever altered.

He overcame these obstacles, however, through hard work and dedication. As a result, he’s a formidable fighter both physically and mentally.

How did Bisping fight after his injury?

Michael Bisping stated in an interview that he had a prosthetic eye lens to cover his right eye and lied about it in order to continue competing in fighting tournaments.

Because many fans were interested, Joe Rogan asked him to elaborate on his methods.

Bisping claimed that he barely passed the eyes test, but he did so with great deception.

Furthermore, he claims that his first eye test was purely coincidental. The enthusiastic former fighter reportedly passed the test by guessing the answers.

“Lying, cheating, bullshit code, I f*****g lied to so many doctors,” he said.

The UFC 3 champion claims he was nervous every time he was tested before the fight. However, the checkers were careless, and he was able to enter the tournaments.
