Shaquille O’Neal was selected first overall by the Orlando Magic in the first round of the 1992 NBA draft.
O’Neal had a flawless start to his NBA career, winning Player of the Week in his first week.
In his debut season, he averaged 23.4 points and 13.9 rebounds per game. As a result, he was named NBA Rookie of the Year and was selected to the NBA All-Star Game.
