Mina Sundwall, with whom Estrin collaborated closely while serving as showrunner for the Netflix series Lost in Space — the third and last season premiered on December 1, 2021 — is one of the many people devastated by his loss.

Along with the iconic photo came a touching note written by the actress.
She began by writing, “I write this with a sorrowful heart.”
Sundwall claimed that there are no words to express her sentiments
and that “no homage could match the influence” Estrin had.
“He was concerned. Hilarious. Kind, honest, and brilliant. “We need more Zack Estrins in the world,” she continued.
“I could never express myself as well as he did.
That’s the first thing you notice: he could tell a darn good story.”
Following that, she wrote lesson number two,
which was that being around Estrin makes you want to be a better person
and take advantage of every opportunity the world presents.
“To show a little more concern for others around you.” To take pleasure in making them happy.”
Sundwall went on to say, “To lead with grace.”

Estrin’s love and commitment to his family, according to the 20-year-old New Yorker, can melt anyone’s heart.

Deadline announced Estrin’s death two days earlier, on September 23, 2022, and on September 25, 2022.
Estrin died of a suspected heart arrest, which is surprising given
that the producer was considered to be in good health.
The terrible situation occurred at Hermosa Sand, where he was jogging
on the beach before falling and experiencing a heart arrest, according to the site.
His actual cause of death will not be known until the autopsy report is completed.

Estrin’s family issued an official statement on the announcement,
saying, “Zack Estrin was our everything.”
The most wonderful husband, father, son, and friend.
He enjoyed making everyone happy. enjoyed making everyone laugh.”
“He loved being a writer/producer and being a part of making these popular series.”
Above all, he cherished his family and friends.
“Thank you for being a part of his and our lives,” the statement said.
His wife, Kari Estrin, and two daughters,
Charlotte Estrin and Chloe Estrin, survive him.
He also has a father, Jonathan Estrin, a mother, Patricia Estrin, a sister,
Amelia Burstyn, two stepsisters, Julie List and Laura Humphrey,
a stepbrother, Dylan Arrants, and two dogs, Molly and Lt. Judy Hopps.
Estrin is most recognized for his work on Prison Break as a co-executive producer
and as the executive producer/showrunner of Lost In Space. He was 51 years old when he died.
