He departed the show due to compensation disparities with fellow
original cast members Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan.
He announced his departure from Hawaii Five-0 in a Facebook post,
stating, “When production resumes next week, I will not be returning to Hawaii Five-0.”
Despite my willingness to return, CBS and I were unable to agree on new contract conditions, so I took the tough decision not to continue.”
The actor expressed his departure as a bittersweet mix of regret
and gratitude before thanking the show’s crew, writers, and creative leadership for their efforts and support.
