She, on the other hand, did not want to continue modeling when she finished.

After finishing with a bachelor’s degree in English in 1967, she relocated to Louisville to pursue a career in reporting.

She began her career in weather broadcasting in 1967 as a reporter for WLKY-TV, where she remained until 1970.

However, she quickly became dissatisfied with her employment and relocated to Washington, D.C. in search of a better opportunity.
