Education Details
Lekan Balogun attended CAC Modern School, Anlugbua, for his primary education.
When he was young and had little understanding, he followed his brother to Rapid Result College in the United Kingdom to improve his performance.
Lekan used to covertly read his brother’s correspondence tutorials for the General Certificate of Education, Ordinary Level (GCE O’L) when his brother was a civil servant and a GCE O’L student.
By reading his brother’s correspondence tutorials, Lekan is able to pass the qualifying exam, referred to as “G4” in those days.
He passed this qualifying exam when he was halfway through the modern school program, but he did not complete the program.
With the qualification certificate in hand, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he continued his study for O and A levels certificates while working part-time. He accomplished all of this before turning 18 years old.
In 1973, he graduated with a Master’s in Administration and Economics from a prestigious university. He does not mention the university’s name in his interview.
After obtaining a Master’s degree, he began working, and one and a half years later, he enrolled in a Ph.D. program.
He resumed his research at the ABU center for Social and Economic Research after enrolling in the Ph.D. program.
He was also given the opportunity to teach at the University of Ife. Obafemi Awolowo University is currently a well-known landmark in Ife.
But he declined the offer and instead chose to conduct studies at ABU.
