High School Career

Allen attended Pennsbury High School, where he continued to strive for greatness and started as a starter for the first team during his sophomore year.

He averaged 12 points and 9 rebounds per game in his junior year, and Hoop Scoop ranked him among the Top 150 players in his class.

Additionally, he was named to the Second Team all-Southeastern during his senior season, and Rivals.com ranked him as the 14th best center in his class, while Scout.com placed him as the 110th overall talent.

Career in College

Lavoy played basketball while a student at Temple University from 2007 to 2011.

During his rookie season, he was chosen for the Preseason All-Atlantic 10 Rookie team.

During the NCAA Tournament, Allen recorded his first double-double by scoring 13 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.

He, therefore, played in nine games for the squad, scoring 10.1 points and pulling down 7.2 rebounds per contest.

Allen withdrew from the French league after the NBA’s strike was resolved, and in December 2011 he agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

He played in about 41 regular-season games, starting 15 of them, averaging 4.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per contest.

He re-signed with the Philadelphia 76ers in July 2012 for a two-year, $6 million contract, and in his second campaign there, he averaged 5.8 points and 5.0 rebounds.

In February 2014, Allen was traded from the 2013 season to the Indiana Pacers.

During his time with the Pacers, he scored 13 points against the 76ers and contributed 12 points and 11 rebounds against the Orlando Magic.

He joined the Zhejiang Golden Bulls of China in 2017 after becoming an unrestricted free agent, however, he never appeared on the field for the group.

Later, in February 2018, he was chosen by the Northern Arizona Suns of the NBA G League.

Additionally, in August 2018, Allen was chosen by the NBA G-League team Capital City Go-Go.

He was signed by the Washington Wizards for training camp in September 2018 and was released by them in October of that same year.

As a result, the group signed him to the roster of the Capital City Go-Go, its G League club.
