Here’s Why Tiger Woods Named His Son ‘Charlie Axel Woods

Why Did Tiger Woods Name His Son Charlie Axel Woods?

When Tiger Woods announced the birth of his kid, the golf world rejoiced. Charlie Axel Woods was born on February 8, 2oo9, in New York City. People couldn’t help but notice his unusual name because his father is a well-known celebrity.

As for his first name, young Woods is named after the late Charlie Sifford.

Sifford was the first black golfer to be accepted into the PGA Tour.

He had previously competed on the PGA Tour Champions and won the Suntree Senior PGA Tour Classic in 1980.

In terms of his relationship with Tiger, Sifford referred to him as “my grandson.”

Tiger’s son was appropriately named after the legend.

What inspired Tiger Woods to give his son the middle name ‘Axel’?

According to birthcare.com, the name Axel signifies “father of peace.”

It’s a Swedish name, and since Charlie’s mother, Elin Nordegren, is Swedish, it’s a natural choice for the little Woods.

People reported that the goat mentioned why the couple named their son Charlie Axel.
