Amateur Days
Johnson left Miami Beach Senior High School in 1997 and enrolled at Langston University.
In 1997, he registered for classes at Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, California. Three years later, Johnson transferred to Oregon State University after receiving intense Beavers recruiting attention.

Change of Name for Chad
Throughout his NFL career, Johnson went by various names. Johnson declared in 2006 that he wished to be known as “Ocho Cinco.” In Spanish, it denoted his jersey number, “eight five.”
So, two years later, he officially changed his name to Chad Javon Ochocinco. However, Ochocinco disclosed that he will formally alter his last name to “Hachi Go” a year later.
