Career Opportunities in College

Humphrey’s first football records date from 1985 to 1988 with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

During his rookie season, he played in the backfield alongside Gene Jelks and Kerry Goode.

In addition, he rushed for 502 yards and four touchdowns on 99 runs. Bobby rushed for 1,471 yards and 15 touchdowns as the Crimson Tide’s leading rusher during his second season.

He rushed for 1,255 yards and 11 touchdowns on 238 carries.

A 220-yard rushing performance against Penn State was one of the highlights of his junior year.

Career in the NFL

Humphrey was one of five players selected in the first round of the 1989 NFL Supplemental Draft by the Denver Broncos.

He rushed for 1,151 yards and seven touchdowns for the Broncos in his first season, as well as throwing a seventeen-yard touchdown pass and hauling in a touchdown reception.

The Broncos qualified for Super Bowl XXIV but were defeated 55-10 by the San Francisco 49ers.

Humphrey had a significant turnover in the first quarter when he fumbled near midfield.
