Bam Adebayo was born on July 18, 1997, in Newark, New Jersey, USA.

John Adebayo, his father, is a Nigerian immigrant, and Marilyn Blount, his mother, is an American.

Despite the fact that his parents named him Edrice at birth, his mother eventually renamed him “Bam Bam,” after the character from the American sitcom The Flintstones.

His parents, however, were unable to maintain their marriage and divorced in 2004.

He grew up in North Carolina with his mother, apart from his father, and has no recollection of him.

He switched to High Point Christian Academy after his junior season to finish his high school career. In his senior year, he guided his squad to the NCISSA state championship.

College Life

Adebayo attended the University of Kentucky after graduating from high school.

Even though he was mostly a center, he also served as a power forward on occasion.

He was a standout freshman for the Kentucky Wildcats, helping them win the SEC Tournament in 2017.

Bam was instrumental in getting them to the finals and scored nine points to help them win the trophy.
