Andre Dawkins

Andre Dawkins is a former professional basketball player. Andre Dawkins made a brief appearance in the NBA in 2014. He aspired to play in the NBA, just like every other American kid who grew up loving the game. In the 2014 NBA draft, though, he went undrafted.

Before turning professional, Dawkins was a college basketball player for Duke University.

His college stats were also not particularly spectacular.

Early Years, Family, and Work

Andre Dawkins was born in Fairfax, Virginia, on September 19, 1991.

When his mother, Tammy Hill, first met his father, Andre Sr., she was still a teenager.

Tammy had given birth to his older sister, Lacey Dawkins, before him.

In 2009, however, she was killed in a car accident.

Moving back to Andre’s upbringing, his parents married a year after he was born.

His father worked as a financial counselor in a firm in Virginia, and the family resided there together.

His parents, however, divorced when he was five years old.

Two years later, his father won custody of him, and he moved to Virginia with his father and stepmother.

Lacey and his biological mother lived separately in Ohio.

Pamela, his stepmother, and his father had three additional children.

The athlete had a close relationship with his stepmother, whom he affectionately referred to as Miss Pam because she used to work at a nearby school.

He had a strong bond with his half-siblings as well.

Education & Early Career

Dawkins went to Deep Creek High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, for his early education.

Since he was a child, he had always excelled in his academics and received excellent grades.

Before transferring to another high school in the same town, he had a strong understanding of basic basketball skills.

His family was supportive, but he was always advised to finish his studies.

Lacey, his original mother and sister, visited him frequently and encouraged him.

As a result, he graduated with honors from Atlantic Shores Christian Academy in 2009 and enrolled at Duke University in North Carolina to continue his education.

Andre is a student at Career High School. As a high schooler, Dawkins was not particularly tall, so he preferred to play as a shooting guard.

Despite the fact that his small height was a hindrance, he generally performed well.

He was voted conference player of the year for his exceptional play throughout his sophomore year.

That season, he averaged 22.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.

During his high school years, he also improved his game and received various awards.

He decided to attend Duke University for college while still in high school.

Andre Dawkins’s net worth is estimated to be between $1 and $5 million, according to various estimates.

He had considered trying out in other minor leagues after failing to get drafted into the NBA.

For his involvement in the NBA Development League and several regular-season games, the Heat earned him about $0.2 million.

He spent a brief time with the Boston Celtics, earning around $59 thousand.
