The Golf World Reacts to Justin Thomas’s Disappointing News
Justin Thomas has pulled out of the Travelers Championship, which begins on June 23. In any other condition, the Tour fans would never have attempted to discover the cause behind it.
However, because numerous Tour players have been leaving the organization for LIV Golf, JT’s surprise departure sent fans into a frenzy!
The PGA Tour announced Thomas’ withdrawal a day after Brooks Koepka announced his own withdrawal from the tournament.
Notably, the four-time major champion will be the next to go from the PGA Tour for the LIV Golf series.
Koepka has yet to make an official announcement, but he will play in the second LIV Golf event in Portland.
Thomas, on the other side, a vociferous PGA Tour supporter, raised a few eyebrows with his premature departure from this week’s Travelers Championship.
Similarly, the PGA Tour did not explain why Thomas elected to withdraw from the Travelers Championship in its initial Twitter message.
This piqued fans’ interest in his views on LIV Golf.
Justin Thomas explains why he won’t be at the Travelers Championship!
“Before the rumors start flying,” Thomas captioned a retweet of the PGA Tour Communications post.
“I’ve decided to go to WD to cure and relax my back, which I strained earlier this week.”
“Just making sure I get it taken care of and ready for the remainder of the PGA season as planned,” he continued.
I’m sorry to be missing one of the best/my favorite events of the year, @TravelersChamp.”
The golfer wrote this as speculation grew that he would be the next in line to join the league.

Reactions on Twitter to JT’s decision to withdraw
Many former Tour players, including Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson, have changed their minds and signed contracts with LIV Golf.
As a result, most fans have commented that JT will not be attending the Tour event since he will be doing the same.
Meanwhile, those who have discovered Thomas’ cause for his departure have shared the news in the comments section.
Some even chastised the PGA Tour for failing to disclose the reason in the post.
