The comedy couple, who began dating in July 2021, abruptly announced their separation on their one-year anniversary. Handler was the one who announced their split on social media.
She wrote a lengthy, passionate post about her year-long relationship with Koy.
And, while her writing says they’re done for good, other sources suggest otherwise.

On July 18, 2022, Handler announced her breakup with Koy in a long-captioned Instagram post.
Because of the video she selected to submit, the post was bittersweet from the start.
In June 2022, Jo Koy will be with his girlfriend, Chelsea Handler.
“In anticipation of celebrating our one year together, Jo and I filmed this video early,”
she wrote at the start, referring to the cute video of them kidding around at the end of their first year together.
She expressed her sadness at having to announce their breakup.
Chelsea, however, uses the phrase “now now” to describe their split: “we have decided collectively that it is appropriate for us to take a break from our relationship right now.”
Handler thanked everyone who had a stake in their relationship and informed them that they meant a lot to both of them.
“To be cherished and treasured by @jokoy has been one of the best gifts of my life,” Handler said, explaining how he had restored her faith in men, love, and a brighter future.
The comic then addressed Koy personally, saying that he “blew [her] creativity open” and renewed her passion for humor and performing.
“This is not the end. It’s a new beginning, and it’s reassuring to know that I’m still adored and that I adore this man in the same manner as the sun adores the moon and the moon adores the sun ”
She stated. “YOUR PERSON IS ON THE WAY.”
“So, please continue to root for both of us, because you never know what life will bring,” Handler concluded her piece, similarly to how she began her writing.
They announced their relationship in September 2021 after being seen kissing at a LA Dodgers game together on September 1, 2021.

The main reason the two separated was a lack of time spent together.
They separated almost a month ago but only now disclosed it.
According to TMZ, Koy and Handler were too busy – she is preparing for a comedy tour for the rest of the year, and he is in Los Angeles promoting his new picture, Easter Sunday.
According to TMZ, the two were unable to spend as much time together as they would have liked in order to make the relationship work.
However, the insider also stated that the now-ex couple’s inner circle is hopeful that they would reunite once their schedules clear.
According to another insider who spoke to People magazine,
“Friends are optimistic that they can still work things out.
But it’s apparent that their connection has altered them both for the better.”
