Who is Malaysia Pargo?

Malaysia Pargo has appeared on VH1’s Basketball Wives since the show’s start. The reality TV personality has been on the show since 2011, first on Basketball Wives LA and subsequently on Basketball Wives.

She is one of the show’s oldest cast members, yet she has created a name for herself in fields other than reality television, such as fashion and entrepreneurship. However, few people know much about her.

Malaysia: real name and early ambitions

Pargo was born in Compton,

California on August 12, 1980. Laquisha Pargo (née Hayes) is her given name.

She was the elder of two siblings; her younger brother, Dontae Hayes, was born on April 27, 1993.

On December 31, 2013, he was slain in a gunfight with police.

Pargo had no intention of becoming a reality TV star.

Instead, she was a clever student who was fascinated by humanity and anatomy.

Pargo went to UCLA, earned a Bachelor of Science degree, and aspired to be a dentist.

However, she gradually understood that it wasn’t simply dentistry that captivated her, but also the beautiful side of it.

During her Making Money Conversations interview in January 2020,

she recalled telling her mother that she wanted to be the “first supermodel dentist.”

She had to overcome the negative reputation that Compton had because she is from there.

And she succeeded, first in academics, then in television and fashion.

Malaysia ‘Basketball Wives’ Pargo’s Career

Pargo’s first appearance on reality television was on Basketball Wives LA in 2011.

She is, nevertheless, still one of the VH1 show’s key draws.

In addition to this, Pargo has been on The Eric Andre Show, Hip Hop Squares, and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.

One of her lesser-known triumphs was her appearance in Ludacris’ 2004 video for ‘Splash Waterfalls.’

On the business front, she owns and operates the apparel line Vanity World.

From jumpsuits and rompers to swimwear, the company sells everything.

Pargo is also recognized for her many partnerships with various beauty businesses,

which occur frequently since she enjoys particular brands and products.

She has been linked to a number of men since her divorce.

Her rumored dates include James Harden, O.T. Genasis, Jamal Rashid, and rapper Mase, with whom she publicly denied dating in late May 2014.
