She is the daughter of Joanne and Lewis Savage, who worked as industrial real estate brokers and a consultant, respectively. Kala is Joanne and Lewis’s middle child.

Her grandparents were Polish, Ukrainian, German, and Latvian Jews.

She was raised as a Reform Jew. Kala’s family is “a good combination” of Jewish ethnic lines.

Her father’s parents were from Latvia and Ukraine, while her mother’s family came from Germany and Poland via Brooklyn.

Fred Savage, Kala Savage’s brother, is best known for his role as Kevin Arnold in The Wonder Years, while her other brother, Ben, is best known for his role as Cory Mathews in Boys Meet World.

Ben, Kala’s younger brother, is an actor best known for his role as Cory Matthews on the ABC sitcom Boy Meets World (1993–2000) and its Disney Channel spinoff Girl Meets World (2014–2017).

When he and Kala were 11 years old, they concocted a home-brewed drink for their 9-year-old brother Ben.

According to Fred, they created the concoction and used everything in the kitchen to make it, including ketchup, margarine, salt, pepper, and vinegar.

Kala’s older brother stated that they forced Ben to drink it all and that he enjoyed it.

Kala Savage began acting at a young age as well

Kala entered the entertainment industry shortly after her brother Fred. She began her start in show business with a role on the afternoon soap Santa Barbara.

Despite their separate achievements, Fred stated in one of his interviews that his parents’ attitude toward him and his siblings had not changed. Kala’s brother clarified that they will continue to be their “Mom and Dad.”

He further stated that even when their father was around, it was his mother who was the disciplinarian. Kala’s father, on the other hand, was unconcerned.

Her mother treated them the same way. She allegedly yelled at them and chastised them in the same way that any other mother would.

The actress/singer has been married to Jared Flamm since 2003. Kala’s husband is a member of the Birdie band (guitar and vocals).

He was also the music coordinator for his brother-in-law, Fred Savage’s, 2007 film, Daddy Day Camp.

Fred and Ben’s sister and her husband, Jared Flamm, have not specified when or how their relationship began.
