Who is Pete Davidson?
Pete Davidson appears to have been around for a long time. Right now, he is on top of the world, with a successful romance with THE Kim Kardashian and a successful comedy career. In 2013, the SNL sensation debuted on the comic scene.
People have been curious about his family life since then, particularly his father’s death in 2001.
Pete’s race and racial heritage are two of the most often asked questions.
And his ethnic background may surprise you because the comedian appears to be everything and nothing, as seen by several jokes regarding his ethnicity, proving that appearances aren’t everything after all.
What Race Is Pete Davidson?
Peter Michael Davidson was born in Staten Island, New York City, on November 16, 1993, to Scott Matthew Davidson and Amy Davidson (née Waters).
He comes from a diverse ethnic background on both his father’s and mother’s sides.
Pete Davidson with his father Scott, who gave him Jewish ancestry.
Scott, his father, was Jewish, which he only discovered in 2017.
“My mum just never told me,” he explained to HOT 97 in December 2017.
Pete claimed that he took an ancestry test and was startled to learn that he was “48%” Jewish.
Only after he enquired about it did his mother reveal his father’s ancestors.
Scott has Polish, Dutch, and German Jewish ancestors, as well as Irish and Italian ancestors.
His father, Stephen Davidson (Pete’s paternal grandpa), was Polish Jewish, and his mother, Carla Kaiser (Pete’s paternal grandmother), was Italian.
Scott’s mother was of German, Dutch Jewish, and Sicilian ancestry.
Amy, Pete’s mother, is of Irish, English, Scottish, and German descent.
She inherited them from her father (Pete’s maternal grandpa), Peter M. Waters, who was of Irish descent, and her mother (Pete’s maternal grandmother),
Rebecca A. O’Keefe, who was of English, German, and Scottish origin.

With all of this, Pete appears to be half Jewish and half a mash-up of many different racial backgrounds, as does his sister, Casey.

His Ethnicity Jokes and Owning the Confusion
Pete has been the victim of numerous jokes about his racially ambiguous appearance since he rose to prominence.
The first of these jokes came from SNL’s top brass, who had cast members far bigger (and older) than him.
He joined Saturday Night Live in 2014, and neither he nor anybody else outside his family was aware of his ethnic origin at the time.
So, inevitably, jokes about his enigmatic nationality became second nature.
Pete, on the other hand, has never taken them seriously.
During an interview with People in October 2015, he described how he dealt with all the comments regarding his confusing appearance.
“I’m a heterosexual white guy who looks like every other race mingled together.
I’m Irish and Italian, yet I have the appearance of a Puerto Rican “He stated.
He also joked about using it “to my advantage.”
“I’m afraid that once people realize I’m simply a white male, I’ll start losing employment,” the comic added.
In the years since, he has featured on Comedy Central roasts of Justin Bieber and Rob Lowe,
in which fellow comedians have made jokes about his at-the-time-confusing racial identification.
The jokes have probably died down after the information about his and his parents’ nationalities became public.
