Early Career

Hat-trick for Gordie Howe

In a loss against the New York Rangers at the Wells Fargo Center on February 11, 2012, he received a Gordie Howe hat-trick. Wayne’s contract with the Kings was extended for another six years in August 2012.

Simmonds received Gordie Howe’s hat-trick for the second time in a 6–5 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on February 20, 2013.

Nashville Predators

Simmonds joined the Nashville Predators for the 2018-19 season, and he scored 16 goals and added 27 points in 62 games.

Wayne inked a contract with the New Jersey Devils on July 1, 2019, after leaving the Predators. He had to face his previous team, the Philadelphia Flyers, in his first game with the Devils.
