On Wednesday night, the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz began Game 2 of Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs at Vivint Arena. The Jazz defeated the Grizzlies 141-129, drawing the series at one game apiece.

The Jazz took the lead over the Grizzlies thanks to torrid shooting from the team’s starters.
The Jazz’s starters all scored in double figures in the victory.
As a result, they kept dominating and eventually won game 2.
On the other side, in the Grizzlies’ loss to the Jazz, Ja Morant scored 47 points.
With the score, he establishes a franchise record.
In addition, he becomes the second-youngest player in NBA playoff history to score 45 or more points in a game.
In the first quarter, the Utah Jazz took the lead
To begin the quarter, the Jazz’s Mike Conley drove to the rim and sank a layup.

After missing 17 games, Donovan Mitchell scored his first basket.

With approximately two minutes remaining in the quarter, the Jazz went on a 10-2 run to take an eight-point lead against the Grizzlies.
Both teams scored a goal, but the Grizzlies quickly cut the lead to five points with approximately 47 seconds left in the first, with Morant scoring a jumper and De’Anthony Melton hitting a three-pointer off Morant’s pass.
Joe Ingles responded with a three-pointer, and Mike Conley added another three-pointer with 5.6 seconds left, pushing the advantage to 11 points.
However, Tyus Jones’ jumper at the buzzer trimmed the Jazz lead to 27-36 as the quarter ended.
In the second quarter, the Jazz maintained their lead against the Grizzlies
Memphis opened the second quarter with a 30-36 shot. Rudy Gobert then responded with a bucket.
He also blocked Grayson Allen’s shot, giving the Jazz another bucket as he dunk on Conley’s assist.
With 10:18 left in the quarter, the Jazz led by ten points.
Dillon Brooks responded with a bucket before Jordan Clarkson hit a three-pointer.

The Jazz, on the other hand, grabbed a 14-point advantage halfway through the quarter. Mitchell increased his lead by driving right to the basket and hitting a layup.
Anderson scored on Morant’s layup to keep the Grizzlies in the game. Bogdanovic quickly responded with a layup.
While Morant kept his hot shooting streak going, he hit a three-pointer on the next possession.
Anderson then intercepted Ingles’ pass and drove directly to the basket, hoping to dunk it.
The Grizzlies trailed the Jazz by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter, trailing 52-71 with 47.7 seconds remaining.
With 10.1 seconds remaining, Ingles hit a three-pointer to give the Jazz a 22-point lead.
Morant then hit a jumper, trimming the margin to 52-74 at the end of the quarter.
In the third quarter, the Grizzlies came roaring back.
For the Grizzlies, Brooks opened the third quarter with a jumper.
On the next possession, Morant hit a three-pointer.
Similarly, Brooks followed with a three-pointer.
THE GRIZZLIES BEGAN TO COME BACK, CUTTING THE LEAD TO 62-75 WITH 10:32 LEFT IN THE QUARTER.
Gobert responded with a three-pointer. However, Anderson scores again after receiving the ball on his own miss.
Morant then throws down a jumper.
Mitchell followed with a step-back three-pointer. And Jaren Jackson responded with his own three-pointer.
With 8:33 left in the third quarter, Conley hits a three-pointer to push the advantage to 16 points.
Morant maintained his outstanding play by hitting a jumper and dishing out an assist to Brooks, giving the Grizzlies back-to-back buckets.
The Grizzlies were within 12 points when Gobert scored on Conley’s alley-oop.
Morant, still attempting to trim the advantage, hits another jumper for the Grizzlies, which is followed by another bucket on Valanciunas’ missed three-point attempt.
With Morant’s strong shooting, the Grizzlies pulled the Jazz’s 22-point lead to 6 points halfway through the third quarter.
Derrick Favors responded with a slam off Conley’s pass. Valanciunas responded with a bucket from the other side.
With about three minutes left in the first, Anderson hits a three-pointer and Melton hits another three-pointer, trimming the lead to two points.
Clarkson scores a jumper to extend the advantage to five points with 2:30 left in the third quarter, making the score 93-96.
Despite Memphis roaring back and cutting the Jazz’s lead in half, the Jazz led 97-103 at the end of the quarter.
The Jazz won the game, tying the series
Rudy Gobert opened the fourth quarter with a slam and followed it up with another bucket on Conley’s feed.
He also turned down Jaren Jackson’s shot.
Conley hit a floater to give the Jazz a 99-112 lead.
He also hit a three-pointer with 9:29 left in the first, giving the Jazz a 12-point advantage.
Georges Niang shoots a three-pointer, pushing the Jazz’s advantage to 104-119. Clarkson then converts on Niang’s three-point attempt.
The Grizzlies trailed the Jazz 108-121 after Anderson’s pass to Morant and Morant’s dunk.
Back-to-back buckets by Jackson and Brooks extended the Grizzlies’ 8-0 run, trimming the advantage to 9 points with 7 minutes remaining.
Conley went to the rim and hit a jumper, while Morant responded with a dunk.
Following that, O’Neale hit a three-pointer, and Gobert hit a three-pointer on the next play.
Halfway through the quarter, the score was 118-131.
Valanciunas was preparing another bucket for the Grizzlies.

Mitchell scored on the other end after Rudy Gobert blocked Brooks.
Conley dropped the ball, and Valanciunas finished with a bucket on the other side.
With 45.9 seconds remaining, O’Neale hit another three-pointer.
Brooks responded with a three-pointer.
The Jazz defeated the Grizzlies 129-141 in the fourth quarter.
The series is now deadlocked at 1-1, and they will meet again in game 3 at FedEx Forum.
