Olivia Wilde’s homophobic background
Wilde sparked outrage when alleged homophobic remarks she
made in previous interviews surfaced online in May 2021.
In one of the interviews that caused a stir, she discussed her transition from actress to director.
She claimed that it was like coming out of the closet —
commonly referred to as the members of the LGBTQ community being upfront about their sexuality and accepting it in public.
The community chastised her for recommending that she change
positions in her profession to that of someone facing a life-altering sexual decision.
People were outraged that she was dismissing the pain that members of the LGBTQ community
experienced while hiding out. They stated that her comments were offensive regardless of how old the interview was.
Olivia Wilde enraged the LGBTQ community, even more,
when she casually stated that she considered a lesbian relationship before meeting Jason Sudekis in 2011.
While there is nothing wrong with questioning one’s sexuality,
many people were not pleased with how she went about it.
Wilde is said to have considered becoming gay because she was lonely.
Many people noted that she implied that being gay and with a woman was her last option,
which she considered due to a lack of men in her life.

Olivia Wilde’s transphobic background
Wilde has a homophobic as well as a transphobic background.
She makes use of a slur in one instance.
She was recently named Revlon’s new brand ambassador, alongside Emma Stone at the time.
So she spoke with Stylelist.com in depth about wearing makeup and her personal style (via Irish Central).
She admitted that she was usually hesitant to put on makeup because
she didn’t want to appear like a “t****y.” She admitted that her jawline makes her look “t****y” at times.
“A strong eye and a strong lip is hard for my face,” she explained.
“I have a really fast t****y. It’s true because I have a very powerful jaw.
So for me, I just have to be cognizant of the way that it transforms my face.”
T****y is an insulting and derogatory term/slur for transgender people.
There was significant misunderstanding and controversy in the early 2000s
about whether the term was derogatory, acceptable, or a reappropriated term of unity and pride.
But by 2017, the term had been banned by numerous significant media
stylebooks and was labeled hate speech by Facebook.
The word is “usually considered offensive and/or defamatory to transgender people,”
according to GLAAD’s 2011 Transgender Resource Page.
So, because of her homophobic and transphobic past,
Wilde has been at the receiving end of the hate — and not just because she is dating Styles.
