Linderbaum was born to Todd and Lisa Linderbaum, who both played sports throughout their youth.
Todd, Tyler’s father, is a Solon native who played three sports
at Upper Iowa University, and Lisa, Tyler’s mother, played softball and basketball.
Todd, a senior at Solon High School, wanted one last adventure with his pals and played baseball until mid-July.
Despite his struggles with sleep, he only missed one baseball practice and no football practice,
and his baseball team still progressed to the state tournament.
“It provided him that opportunity where he understood,
OK, this is what I’m accepting,” Todd said.
Tyler never complained about his long hour of training, and his mother referred to it as a “team effort.”
From an early age, the NFL player was fiercely competitive with his older brother.
The age divide intensified early competitions, but Tyler would not give up lightly on athletics,
Ping-Pong, or a family board game.
Lisa, through The Athletic, claimed that her youngest son was not a person who would submit easily.
She added, “He didn’t want to lose. That’s what I always tell Todd.
We should have made him lose as a little boy more often than he did. Just because if he didn’t win, he was pissy.”
