Jones began his college career on November 6, 2018.

In 36 games for the Duke Blue Devils as a freshman, he averaged 9.4 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game.

The sophomore year (2019-2020)

On April 8, 2019, the Dukes announced Jones’ return for the 2019-20 season.

In his first game of the sophomore season, a 68-66 win over Kansas, he averaged 15 points.
