Kimbo Slice was a Bahamian-American mixed martial artist, boxer, bare-knuckle boxer, and professional wrestler. On June 23, 2007, he made his MMA debut at Cage Fury Fighting Championship 5. After a good start, Slice delivered a string of remarkable performances.

On June 6, 2016, the warrior died of heart failure at the age of 42.

Until his death, he was under contract with Bellator MMA.

Ray Mercer is number nine

We begin our list of Kimbo Slice’s best MMA fights with his debut match against former WBO Heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist boxer Ray Mercer.

On June 23, 2007, the match was staged at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 5 in Atlantic City.

Slice triumphed in his debut match. He used a submission to defeat Mercer.

Following the contest, Slice was embroiled in controversy.

CBS and EliteXC questioned his status as a premier martial arts artist.

There was even an initial investigation into the battle and its aftermath.

After the inquiry was completed, no wrongdoings were discovered.

However, in October 2008, EliteXC was forced to declare bankruptcy.

It was the main event bout at Elite XC: Street Certified in 2008 between Slice and Tank Abbot.
