The South Korean actor, who just appeared on Netflix’s new series Squid Game, welcomed his first child with his non-celebrity wife on Wednesday, September 29.
In a public statement, Hae-agency, soo’s BH Entertainment, confirmed the news, saying, “It’s true that Park Hae Soo’s wife recently gave birth to their first baby, and Park Hae Soo is now a father.”
During a recent media interview to promote his Netflix series Squid Game, the actor addressed the news.
“I’m really grateful that so many people all across the world are congratulating me on the birth of my son,” he stated at one point.
I told my wife before the interview that the news will be released today and that she should expect to hear from a lot of people soon.”
So far, the baby’s name has not been made public.
But the reason is obvious: the couple wants to keep their newborn kid away from the spotlight.
Hae-soo and his bride, the name of whom has not been released in the media, reportedly married in early 2019.
Their wedding was placed in a private ceremony in Seoul, with only a few guests present, including their parents, relatives, and close friends.
The actor’s two lifelong friends, actor Lee Ki-seop and Ulala Session’s Park Kwang-sun hosted the wedding.
After the ceremony, Hae-soo and his wife went on their honeymoon to Club Med in the Maldives.
“I want to inform you about my delight,” the actor remarked on his fan cafe at the time, when announcing his wedding preparations.

“I’m going to start a new life with my girlfriend,” he concluded.

The couple originally met in 2017 through a mutual acquaintance and started dating the following year.
They chose to marry after a few years of being in a close relationship.
