I was really paying attention, so I dropped out around sixteen.”

In the interview, he stated that his parents struck a bargain that permitted him to travel to Los Angeles.

“Go to Los Angeles for six months. If you get a gig, congratulations; you’re an actor,” Avan recalled.

“If you don’t acquire a job, you’ll have to return to Vancouver and go back to school.”
