The ‘Love Story’ singer revealed the title of her next album, Midnights,
while winning the video of the year award at the Prudential Center in Newark on August 28.
She stated that the album will be published on October 21, 2022.
Swift noted during her VMAs winning speech that the re-recordings would
not have been possible without the support of her fans.
She expressed gratitude to her fans for their love and support.
“And I had made up my mind if you were going to be gracious and give this award,
I thought it could be a wonderful occasion to tell you that my brand-new album comes out October 21.
“And I’ll tell you more at midnight,” Swift stated during her winning speech at the VMAs.
She maintained her word and announced the information of her next album,
Midnights, via her website, Twitter, and Instagram by releasing two photos at exactly midnight.
The first image suggested that her album would contain 13 tracks
divided into Side A and Side B. Side A will have six tracks, while Side B will have the remaining seven.
The next image included a synopsis of her new album.
“This is a compilation of songs produced in the middle of the night, a voyage between dread and lovely dreams,” she explained.
Her next album will be her first since Folklore and Evermore,
both of which sold over a million units in their first week, with Folklore selling two million.
Swift became the first woman to win Album of the Year three times with Folklore at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
