Sexual Assault and Prohibition

Everything is a gamble! Believe me when I say that news about the legendary player Steven is circulating in the Taekwondo world. However, on this note and at this time, it’s entirely different news.

Lopez, for example, had a long-kept secret for over a decade.

Lopez was found guilty of abusing his power by sexually assaulting girls, in violation of sport’s rules and moral ethics.

Furthermore, the case was filed in the United States. District Court in Denver by a total of six girls, not just one or two. Apparently, the problem is much broader than sexual assault and human trafficking.

According to certain lawyers, Steven and his elder brother, Jean, have assaulted not just a few girls, but more than 29 of them.

To elaborate, this allegation first surfaced in 2017 when the girls performed the act.

As a result, Steven and his friends drugged Audrey-Ann LeBlanc and Amber Means before gang-raping her.

Following that, Mandy Meloon spoke about how Lopez molested her when she was 16 years old during the 2006 tournament.

Similarly, Kay Poe and Gabriela Joslin came forward with similar cases involving Steven.

Furthermore, Heidi Gilbert stated that she was in the same situation as Jean Lopez and that they had a consensual relationship when she was 17.

Jean, on the other hand, was forcing him on her, and the next day, he pretended to know nothing.

Result

Lopez has yet to face criminal charges. The lawsuits and complaints, as well as the outcomes, were investigated for many years.

As a result, Jean and Steven were barred from participating in games and other activities until their bans were lifted in 2019.

They have, however, denied all of the allegations leveled against them and stated that they were false.

As a result, Steven appealed his ban and requested arbitration.

“I’ve never done anything inappropriate with anyone.” I’ve never — absolutely nothing. That is not the case. Nothing comes close.”

-Sean Lopez

As a result, they have been declared “permanently ineligible” for future competition.

“I’ve never done anything inappropriate with Heidi.” I have nothing bad to say about her. She was my sportsperson. I was her coach, but I never did anything inappropriate with her.”

Victim’s Statement

“He said something along the lines of, ‘It’s okay,’ and began kissing me before pushing me back onto the bed.”

Audrey-Ann LeBlanc’s

“The next thing I know, he’s rubbing my hips, where I’d injured myself.” It hit me like a ton of bricks. In my mind, I went somewhere else. I just sat there waiting for it to be over.”

Gabriella Joslin’s

“I started feeling really bad and disgusted. I was an f—— disaster back then.

I had to go to therapy, and I remember feeling suicidal. My circumstances were a little different. I had to give up my favorite sport because I was molested.”

Heidi Gilbert’s

“You are completely imprisoned. I was stuck with no choice. Also, I had no idea about calling the cops. I didn’t want to offend my father, so I was never taught anything about sex or normal things. As a result, I was always aware that it wasn’t right.”
