Stephen Graham | Family & Early Years

On June 11, 1982, Stephen Graham was born in Wilmington, Delaware, in the United States.

Joey, his identical twin brother, was born just a few minutes before him.

Before them, their older brother Brian Graham had been born to his parents Joseph “Joe” and Rose Graham.

He was born in Delaware, but his family eventually moved to Florida, where he grew up close to Hillsborough Country.

Joe, his father, was a pilot and a longtime officer in the US Navy.

When they were young, their father exposed his kids to a variety of fascinating experiences.

When they were only five years old, the twin brothers first consciously relished their flight.

When he was in school, Joe had aspirations of playing basketball professionally.

He had, however, abandoned after failing to make his high school squad. As a result, he decided to join the military.

But he instilled in his children love and enthusiasm for basketball.

In addition to basketball, they played football and had a quick learning curve.

Their favorite childhood hobbies, other than playing games and studying, included watching movies and talking to their parents about jets and airplanes.

Stephen and Joey initially enrolled at the University of Central Florida in Orlando in 2002, the year after they received their high school diplomas from Brandon.

He later went on to Oklahoma State University and earned a degree in aviation management, though.

Joey, unlike Stephen, had no desire to play basketball professionally.

He desired to fly fighter jets. But after being rejected from the military due to his height, he later joined his twin brother in the NBA.

A career in Basketball for Stephen Graham

After High School

For four years, Stephen Graham represented the Brandon School while playing high school basketball.

Graham became the team’s primary guard in school after head coach Mark Herman was intrigued with his style of play early on.

He participated in two separate teams, including Nike’s Traveling Florida team, in the AAU competitions at the same time.

He also suited the forward position well, but up until he graduated from college, he primarily played guard.

He was selected for the Hillsborough County All-Conference team based on his achievements during his junior year.

He was named captain of the team during his senior season, and he guided Brandon to the state championship game.

He also made the All-State Team for his performance during the previous season.

He had averaged 16.0 points, 6.0 assists, and 8.0 rebounds per game by the end of his senior year.

Career in College

Stephen and his brother signed up to play basketball for the UFC Knights at the University of Central Florida after graduating from high school.

Before transferring to the Oklahoma State Cowboys, he played for the Knights for two seasons.

Graham shifted to the Oklahoma State Cowboys and wore a redshirt from 2002 to 2003.

He was a member of the squad during his junior year, although he didn’t get much playing time.

His performance suffered as a result; he only managed an average of 2.8 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.

He had more chances during his final collegiate season, but due to his poor statistics, he had little chance of being selected in the next draft.

A career in the Profession

It was clearly clear that Stephen would not be selected when he proclaimed his intent to enter the NBA draft in 2005.

His brother, on the other hand, excelled in college and quickly entered the NBA.

He received a call from the Phoenix Suns, who signed him for the 2005 Las Vegas Summer League.

Later, he participated in a few preseason games for the San Antonio Spurs, but none of these organizations extended an offer to sign him.

He has never played in an NBA regular season before.

Graham was pleased to play in important league games, but his performance was horrendous.

In 6.3 minutes per game, he had averaged 2.8 points and 1.2 rebounds.

While playing for the Pacers, Stephen started to see some stability.

He stayed with them for over two years and participated in 74 NBA regular-season games while playing mostly as a backup.

Before quitting basketball in 2013, Stephen Graham also competed in the Venezuelan Superliga and the Puerto Rican BSN League.

He has previously served as an assistant coach for organizations including the Denver Nuggets and the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Stephen started to receive offers from other NBA teams, which led to a slight raise in his compensation.

But he was unable to live up to expectations, and throughout his NBA career, he never made a million dollars from a single season.

He made roughly $1.5 million after spending two seasons playing for the Indiana Pacers.

He earned an additional $1.7 million from his NBA games played up until 2011.
