In 1815, Sojourner developed feelings for a black slave named Robert.
He used to work on her next farm for Charles Catton, Jr. (professional painter).
However, when Robert attempted to meet Truth, he was beaten by Charles and his son.
She never saw him again after that day and learned of his death two years later.
Sojourner Truth has married her spouse Thomas (Another Slave man of John Dumont).
