The return of Sienna Mae Gomez to social media was met with more criticism

Gomez marked her return to social media with a 56-second video of herself relaxing on a beach. The video began with the line, “This video is brought to you by cancel culture.”

Singer Dominic Fike’s ‘Cancel Me’ was used as a background song and one of the lyrics read: “I hope they cancel me (why?).

So that I can spend time with my family (why?). So I can get rid of this mask, dog (damn). “Kiss my ass, dog,” say the people (yeah, yeah).

Although some Gomez fans were overjoyed to see the TikTok star return to social media, many others were not.

When TikTok Insiders’ Instagram account announced her return, the comment section was flooded with negative feedback.

“She’s acting like she got ‘cancelled’ for something minor,” one Instagram user wrote. YOU SHOULD BE IN JAIL IF YOU SEXUALLY ASSAULTED SOMEONE.”

“She’s been crying in her room for like 6 months now, it’s ‘I hope they cancel me.'” said another.

Similarly, several users took to their respective Twitter handles to express their opinions.

“Sienna Mae is coming back to the internet as casually as she is.. that’s [expletive] insane,” one tweeted.

She committed to SA and publicly criticized the cancel culture????????? “Are you stupid or stupid?”

“It irritates me so much that Sienna Mae made a joke about being canceled when she literally SA’d someone,” said another.

One Twitter user added, “the absolute NERVE of sienna mae, girl you are not a victim of cancel culture, you COMMITTED A CRIME.”

What happened to Sienna Mae?

As previously stated, people began canceling Gomez after her former boyfriend and colleague Jack Wright, who is also a member of the Hype House, accused her of sexual assault.

Wright and Gomez were close friends who worked together on a variety of projects.

They began dating as their friendship progressed. Their relationship, however, was short-lived.

Despite their split, the two continued to work together and create content.

Mason Rizzo, a close friend of Wright, later opened up about what happened between the former couple in a since-deleted Twitter post in the Spring of 2021.

Rizzo stated that Gomez had sexually assaulted Wright on multiple occasions despite his objections and Wright establishing boundaries in their relationship.

Similarly, he claimed that Gomez told Wright to kill himself and that Gomez was verbally abusive in the past.

In another tweet, Rizzo explained why he deleted his original tweet and stated that the parties involved had agreed to handle the situation offline.

Following those allegations, Gomez took to her Instagram account to state that they were false.

“Friends fight and relationships change, but allegations of a criminal act are not to be thrown around loosely,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post.

“Making an untrue sexual assault claim is never okay,” she continued. This situation breaks my heart.

I’m going to take this offline with Jack so that we can all move forward. Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern and love.”

Despite this, Gomez continued to face criticism, and people began to cancel her shows.

When Wright opened up, the fire spread even further. Wright accused Gomez of sexual assault in a YouTube video titled ‘what Sienna Mae did to me’ on January 20, 2022.

Wright said in the video that he agreed with everything his best friend, Rizzo, had said in his deleted Twitter post and that Rizzo had witnessed almost everything that had happened.

Wright continued by mentioning other things Gomez had done.

When he posted that video, Gomez followed it up with an apology video in which she stated that she didn’t understand what she was doing at the time.

However, things quickly deteriorated when Wright’s brother and a friend began discussing what Gomez had done to Wright.

She was accused of verbally abusing, sexually assaulting, and manipulating Wright.

A since-deleted video also showed Gomez kissing an unconscious Wright while placing her hands on Wright’s body.

People immediately stopped her when they realized what she was doing.

More complaints were filed against Gomez.

Wright went on to accuse Gomez of repeatedly breaking into his house and then attacking him.

Gomez eventually declined all of the accusations. However, losing millions of followers and multiple sponsorship deals with various brands was not enough for her.

Fans began to cancel her, and Gomez eventually disappeared from all of her social media accounts.

And even though Gomez has returned to social media, fans are still outraged by the accusations leveled against her.
