The now-married couple first met in 2008, when Porter was a rising actor and his wife, Kelsey ‘Mayfield’ Porter, was a cheerleader (now a casting director).
They met on the sets of the NBC football drama show Friday Night Lights,
and their first meeting was enough to make them fall in love.
They began dating soon after, and the rest is history.
Their friendship became stronger and stronger over time.

After four years as a boyfriend-girlfriend couple, the American actor decided it was time to take their
relationship to the next level. He got down on one knee and proposed to the love of his life in January 2012.

Not only Porter and Mayfield are a terrific married pair, but they are also amazing parents to their two children.
On May 23, 2015, they welcomed their first child, a son called McCoy Lee Porter.
Mayfield learned after the birth of their son that she had been diagnosed with Huntington’s illness prior to becoming pregnant.
Huntington’s disease is a neurological illness in which brain cells deteriorate over time.
After learning out that, the couple chose to have another kid, after some months.
“She was very bold, and she found out how we could have a child
without passing Huntington’s down to the next generation,” Porter told PEOPLE at the time.
Porter announced that his wife is expecting another kid and it is a baby girl.
Clover Ash Porter, the couple’s second child, was born on August 10, 2017.
A couple of days later, Mayfield tweeted a picture cuddling her daughter, with the comment
“Clover Ash was born on August 10th, 9lbs 3oz. We’re over the moon about this new addition!”
Since the birth of their kids, the parents of two are embracing their time as parents and can be seen flaunting images beside their kids.
