Robert Goulet was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on November 26, 1933.
Georges Andre Goulet and Jeanette Gauthier Goulet were his parents.
Claire Goulet was his younger sister.
His father was also an amateur singer and wrestler, and both of his parents worked in mills.
When Goulet was only 13, his father died.
Following the incident, he and his mother, as well as his sister Claire, relocated to Girouxville, Alberta, where he spent the rest of his adolescence.
