Rey Mysterio’s Professional Career

Mysterio made a breakthrough in his professional wrestling career after joining Asistencia Asesoria alongside Juventud Guerrera in 1992.

He became well-known while working there after rising through the ranks and building a name for himself.

His breakthrough came in 1995 when he joined Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW).

After a year, he joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and began facing Dean Malenko.

“Sports Illustrated” published a report in 2007 that linked several WWE superstars to steroid and HGH use.

Rey was one of the wrestlers.

Due to his use of steroids and HGH, Mysterio defended himself, claiming that the drugs he used were on prescription for his knee and arm, and got a 30-day suspension from the WWE on August 27, 2009, for violating the wellness policy.

His involvement in the death of Perro Aguayo Jr. is the source of his most surprising controversy.

The wrestler died inside the ring during a match involving Tiger, Mysterio, and Manik.

He dropped kicked Aguayo, killing him with a devastating strike.

When it was discovered that Aguayo had stopped breathing, he was transported to the hospital, where heroic efforts were made to resuscitate him.

These efforts were futile, and he was declared dead on March 21, 2015.
