Phonchanok Srisunaklua is a Thai YouTuber and teacher. Phonchanok Srisunaklua rose to prominence after she began uploading videos to her Gin Zap Bep Nua Nua YouTube channel (Eat spicy and tasty). Srisunaklua is said to live in the Thai province of Sakon Nakhon.

The YouTuber was arrested for five years.

In the 1-minute 40-second video Phonchanok Srisunaklua posted to her Gin Zap Bep Nua Nua YouTube account, the dead animals were floating in a mud-colored soup with cherry tomatoes.

After describing the bats as “delicious” and comparing them to “eating raw meat,” she was seen tearing them apart and soaking them in a hot sauce called Nim Jam.

At one point, the food content creator is seen holding up a full bat to the camera and saying, “It has teeth,” before continuing to crunch on the bones and saying, “The bones are soft.”

Angry viewers who were concerned about the potential health consequences bombarded the “bat soup” video with complaints.

When he saw the video, veterinarian Pattaraphon Manee-on, director of the animal health management group at the Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation, was taken aback.

The veterinarian emphasized that the incident should not have happened in Thailand or anywhere else in the world because it was a highly dangerous behavior, especially because bats carry a lot of pathogens.

Manee-on also stated that even touching saliva, blood, or skin is dangerous.

He claimed that because bats are protected creatures, Phonchanok may have violated the Preservation and Protection and Wildlife Act, B.E. 2019.

“Because the incident should not have happened both in Thailand and around the world, it is very risky behavior, especially given that bats have a lot of pathogens,” he said.

There is no evidence that the hot water temperature kills germs.”

According to some experts, bats carry over 10,000 diseases that could spread to humans and cause a new epidemic.

Phonchanok Srisunaklua was recently arrested for “computer crime violations” and “possession of protected wildlife carcasses.”

After denying the allegations, the woman released a second video in which she apologized to “society, doctors, media, coworkers, family, and friends.”

Phonchanok Srisunaklua also stated that she would no longer eat bats.
