Paul Jay is a well-known American filmmaker and journalist of Canadian origin. Paul Jay is currently the host and founder of theAnalysis.news, a news analysis service. Paul was previously the senior editor, CEO, and founder of The Real News Network. He is also a former chair of the now-defunct Canadian Independent Film Caucus (DOC).

Furthermore, Paul appeared in interview segments in another Bret Hart documentary, Bret Hart: Survival of the Hitman, which was released in 2010.

For six seasons, he was the executive producer and creator of CBC Newsworld’s flagship debate program counter spin. Specifically, from 1998 to 2004.

In addition, Paul was the co-executive producer and co-creator of Face Off, a nightly prime-time debate program that aired on CBC Newsworld for four years. He collaborated with Gore Vidal, among others, to launch TRNN.

TRNN later launched a number of internet video/television news magazines, including The Empire Files.
