His initial role on the show was as a breakfast bulletin reporter and presenter.

He was immediately elevated to deputy presenter in 2009, standing in for Sonali Shah, the primary presenter, when she was unavailable.

In 2010, he co-hosted the main Newsround bulletin with Shah on two occasions.

Until Shah’s resignation in November 2011, this was the situation.

He was later joined by reporters Leah Gooding and Hayley Cutts.

As part of his duties, he also hosted the spin-off show Sportsround.

He took over as the primary host when the show was relaunched in October 2008.

In 2016, he and Dan Walker co-hosted Sport Relief: Clash of the Titans.
